Why we exist

the talent was always here. the community wasn't.

For a generation, Palm Beach County watched its founders pack up and leave for Miami, New York, San Francisco — because that's where the workspace, the education, the mentors, and the funding existed.

1909 exists to make sure founders don't have to leave to find it. Since 2018, we've built a community of 200+ members across tech, creative, and small-business industries — vetted on values, grit, and generosity. Founders showing up for each other every day, giving more than taking.

Membership is the investment founders make in themselves. But it doesn't cover it all. Your donation backs the people building what's next here — the scholarships, the workshops, the keeping-the-lights-on so every great idea gets a real shot.
